This was a very fun project. I’d love to work on more like this. This was done by 3 people, Optix, Vinz, and lookdeep.org. Brought together by Arts YOUniverse, Catholic Social Services, & the Luzerne Foundation. It really brought some life to that building. When we were working on it many people stopped and talked a little, but the most memorable one for me was when we noticed an older lady walking over from the high rise building. She was walking up, pretty slow, so it gave us some time to prepare for whatever she might say. She walked up and said : “We’ve all been watching you paint for the past few days (she’s pointing to the top of the building) We think it’s absolutely wonderful, and we just want you to know we like it”.
Many times I’ve been patrolling the spot, and there’s people taking photographs, or freaking out about it. Sometimes I say hi, and explain it a little. Sometimes I just like to be a passive observer. Here’s the slideshow of it’s creation.
